These 2017 Year of the Rooster gold coins are produced by Perth Mint and are issued in .9999 pure gold. 2017 celebrates the tenth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac calendar. The reverse of each coin depicts a rooster standing in a stylized Chinese scene featuring bamboo and leaves. The Chinese character for ‘Rooster’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rooster’ also appear in the design with the Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. Shown on the obverse of the coin, is the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Each coin is individually capsulated to maintain its striking condition.
