This America the Beautiful Series – War in the Pacific National Historical Park 5 oz silver coin is the 48th release of 56 coins released by the U.S. Mint. The reverse design features the War in the Pacific National Historical Park and commemorates American troops landing at Asan Bay during the Battle of Guam, in which US forces liberated the island from Japanese occupation.
The bullion coins are three inches in diameter and have a nominal face value of 25 cents. The series are the first five ounce, three inch, .999 fine silver bullion coins ever produced by the United States Mint. The fineness and weight are edge-incused on the coins. The coins are sold without capsules and can be purchased individually or in air tight mint-issued tubes of 10, also without capsules.
