Werewolf sightings may date back to the age of New France, but in July 1767, an article in the Gazette de Québec cautioned the public to be on the look-out for a loup-garou in the guise of a beggar. This coin is composed of 99.99% fine silver, and retains a face-value of $10. The reverse of the coin features a fierce werewolf in front of a forest with the full moon in the sky along with the metal weight, purity, and country of issue. The level of detail in the engraving of this coin is a testament to the craftsmanship of the Royal Canadian Mint; the obverse displays the effigy of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Also featured above the effigy, is the year of issue, her title, and the $10 denominational value. Once again radial lines feature throughout the obverses field.
