These 2016 1 oz Year of the Monkey gold coins are produced by Perth Mint and are issued in .9999 pure gold.
2016 celebrates the ninth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac calendar. Each gold coin features an monkey sitting in a peach tree.
The Chinese character for ‘monkey’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Monkey’ also appear in the design with the Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. Shown on the obverse of the coin, is the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
