Description
The Royal Canadian Mint has released this beautiful coin featuring one of the largest omnivorous bears in the world, the Polar Bear. This 1/2 oz silver coin is produced by the RCM in .9999 pure silver. The coin features precisely machined radial lines on both sides of the coin, as well as a micro-engraved maple leaf as security features.
The obverse features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, and the unusual denomination of two dollars. The reverse showcases a polar bear at the edge of an ice shelf looking towards the frigid cold water.
All of the writing on the reverse runs around the rim of the coin in the area filled by the radial lines.
