Description
The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series II celebrates the Year of the Monkey in 2016, the ninth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Each coin has a fineness of 99.9% pure silver, and is protected in a plastic capsules. The reverse of each coin depicts an adult monkey and baby monkey holding a peach, sitting on a branch of a peach tree.
The Chinese character for ‘Monkey' and the inscription ‘Year of the Monkey' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
