Capture the spirit of the 1896 Klondike Gold rush with this special issue one ounce $200 gold coin struck in .99999 fine gold – the purest gold coin in the world. This is the 2nd coin issued in the 5-9s pure gold 'Klondike Gold Rush' bullion series. This design features a miner, mining for gold by pouring water into a rockers box, with a gold maple leaf coin flowing from the box. The coin also features a micro-engraved maple leaf laser mark in the coin’s field. In the center of the mark, visible under magnification, is the numeral “22”, denoting the coin’s year of issue.
Rockers boxes were used by miners by pouring water into the top, and by applying a rocking movement, it would help separate the gravel from the gold, which was caught by riffles that lined the bottom of the box. The water was typically captured and recycled many times. These methods helped form the popular image of Yukon as a mining frontier during the Klondike Gold Rush and put Canada on the map as a leading gold producer.
A superb collectible at an investment bullion price! Each single coin comes protected inside a capsule embedded RCM certified assay card.
