Description
The War in the Pacific was a series of coins issued by the Perth Mint to commemorate the Australia and United States partnership during World War II.
Produced by the Perth Mint, this Australian legal tender coin portrays a flying eagle carrying and olive branch between the American and Australian national flags. Inscriptions include VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC and 1945. The Perth Mint's mint mark, "P", is to one side of the design. The obverse design has Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and inscriptions that include 15 DOLLARS, 2017, 1/10 OZ 9999 GOLD, ELIZABETH II and AUSTRALIA.
