Description
The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series celebrates the Year of the Monkey in 2016, the ninth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
Each coin has a fineness of 99.9% pure silver, and is protected in a plastic capsules. The reverse of each coin depicts the Monkey King in a colourful design along with two younger monkeys by his side.
The Chinese character for ‘Monkey' and the inscription ‘Year of the Monkey' also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
