Description
The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series I celebrates the Year of the Dragon in 2000, the fifth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Each coin has a fineness of 99.9% pure silver, and is protected in a plastic capsules. The reverse of each coin depicts a traditional Chinese dragon in a dynamic pose surrounded by flames and a pearl of wisdom. The Chinese character for ‘Dragon’ and the inscription "2 oz 999 Silver" also appear in the design.
