Description
The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series II celebrates the Year of the Snake in 2013, the sixth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Each coin has a fineness of 99.9% pure silver and is protected in a plastic capsule. The reverse of each coin depicts a representation of a snake curled around a tree branch. The Chinese character for ‘snake’ and the inscription "Year of the Snake" also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
